Muscat: The latest forecasts and analyses from the National Early Warning Center for Multiple Risks indicate the onset of varying intensity rainfall over parts of the governorates of Musandam, Al Buraimi, North al Batinah, Al Dhahirah, which has led to flowing of wadis.

The expectations for Saturday include heavy to extremely heavy rainfall over the governorates of Musandam, Al Burainni, North al Batinah, and Al Dhahirah, which is expected to extend to include the governorates Al Dakhiliyah, South Al Batinah, Muscat, North Sharqiyah, and South Sharqiyah in the afternoon and evening.

The intensity is expected to persist to varying degrees on Sunday.

Additionally, the flow and formation of clouds with scattered rainfall are expected in the governorates of Al Wusta and Dhofar

This weather condition is expected to be accompanied by heavy to extremely heavy rainfall (30-150), which may lead to flash flooding in the wadis.

Strong downdraft winds (15-50) may result in the dispersion of loose materials

Intense hail could cause damage to properties and vehicles.

The sea Waves are expected to be rough (2-3m ) along most coastlines.

According to the Director General of Oman Meteorology, “There is a delay in the peak of the weather condition, but the northern governorates will continue to be affected by heavy thunderstorms during the coming hours.”

The wilayat of Shinas is currently witnessing heavy thunderstorms, which will soon extend to Suhar and Liwa in North Batinah.

Motorists traveling towards the UAE (Hatta Border) are urged to exercise caution.

The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) urged citizens and residents to stay away from low places, water bodies, and wadi streams during rain.

Oman Meteorology said that heavy rain fell today, ranging from 30 to 150 mm, in the governorates of Al-Buraimi, Musandam, Al-Dhahirah, Al-Dakhiliyah, North Al-Sharqiyah, South Al-Sharqiyah, North Al-Batinah, and South Al-Batinah, accompanied by hail, with continued chances of rain of varying intensity on the rest of the northern governorates of the Sultanate of Oman until Sunday.

The Wilayat of Bahla and the villages of the Al Dakhiliyah Governorate witnessed rainfall ranging from moderate to heavy due to the effects of the low-air depression.

In the wilayat of Al Hamra, heavy to moderate rain was concentrated in Jabal Shams.
